Days af­ter he stormed out of his home fol­low­ing an ar­gu­ment with his com­mon-law wife, a 22-year-old labour­er was dis­cov­ered dead, hang­ing from a tree, on Mon­day night. Po­lice said Miguel An­tho­ny, of Kroomen Set­tle­ment, St John Road, South Oropouche, over­heard a tele­phone con­ver­sa­tion be­tween his 33-year-old com­mon-law wife and an­oth­er man on Sat­ur­day night and he con­front­ed her.

They had a heat­ed ar­gu­ment and An­tho­ny stormed out of the house. On Mon­day night rel­a­tives dis­cov­ered An­tho­ny's body hang­ing from a tree. It was viewed by the DMO who or­dered its re­moval to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where an au­top­sy is ex­pect­ed to be per­formed. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
