Imagine sampling authentic dishes from 33 countries across the world in three hours. This is what the International Food Festival hosted by the Honorary Consuls of the Consular Corps of T&T will be offering to food lovers at the Hilton Trinidad on October 8. Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is the patron. Procceds of the festival will go towards the Children's Life Fund, The Renal Dialysis Unit at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex and the Animal Welfare Network. The theme of the first annual event is "A World of Food...A World of Hope."
At the launch of the festival at Cipriani Boulevard, Port-of-Spain, Italian consul Shira Mohammed, consul of Pakistan Amjad Ali, Amer G Haidar consul for Lebonan and Dr Monica David consul for Barbados appealed to the public to support the worthy cause by purchasing tickets priced at $750 in aid of sick, underprivileged and disenfranchised children. Mohammed said the charitable event offers an incredible, diverse buffet menu of appetising cuisine from the 33 nations which they represent. The food prepared by Hilton's chief executive chef will cater for 1,000 patrons. "It's like going around the world and savouring meals from 33 countries in three hours," Mohammed said. Dishes from Poland, Indonesia, Philippines, Russia to name a few will be served at five food stations.
