A Claxton Bay father of one whose life had been threatened several times was shot dead on Sunday. Felix, 35, of St John's Road, was a short distance away on Rig Road at around 7 pm when he was approached by a man. According to eyewitnesses, the two men had a conversation before the suspect pulled out a gun and shot Felix three times in the chest. The gunshots were heard by one of Felix's brothers who rushed out and saw him lying in a clump of grass by the roadside. He died on the spot before the ambulance and police arrived.
Brother of the victim, Roger Felix, said he knew the murder was a hit. He added: "Some months ago my brother was involved in an altercation with a woman and the matter went to court. "The woman's boyfriend eventually went to jail and he and several other people had threatened to kill him on many occasions. "Now they kill him," he said. He said police were yet to supply the family with proper details about the death and he hoped their investigation leads to swift justice for his brother.
