Works and Infrastructure Minister Jack Warner says he can give no assurance to the 400 contractors of the Programme for Upgrading Road Efficiency (PURE) who are now out of work.Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissesar has rescinded a Cabinet decision to approve full contracts for the programme with the aim of restructuring it.Asked about the status of the programme, Warner said he did not know.

It is really one of those times that I cannot answer you."I only have to sit and wait to see what develops from PURE. But I can tell you that I am aware that there are some considerations being given at this point and as soon as they come to the fore, I will let you know."He said he was not aware why it was rescinded.
