A 20-year-old man is expected to appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate today charged with dangerous driving, causing the death of PC Adahha Maynard.PC Maynard, of Sonora Park, Diego Martin, was on his way to work at the Four Roads Police Station when he was knocked down and killed by a car driven by the motorist on Morne Coco Road, Four Roads, Diego Martin, on September 25.
Last Thursday, lawmen returned to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further instructions to charge the motorist.Meanwhile, a file on accident victim, Joanne Webb, was sent to the DPP's office for instructions last Thursday.Joanne Webb, 52, of Bon Air, was in a vehicle heading south along the Bon Air intersection at the Priority Bus Route, Arouca, when it collided with a marked police vehicle proceeding west along the bus route.
The officers in the vehicle were injured and are on sick leave, police said.
