Government senator and president of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions and NGOs (FITUN) David Abdulah says his position on the five per cent wage offer to trade unions has not changed.He said he stands with the Joint Trade Union Labour Movement against the imposition of "a one-size-fits-all cap."
He said that is an attempt to frustrate collective bargaining.He is also general secretary of the Oilfields Workers' Trade Union.Abdulah was addressing the media yesterday at the Communication Workers' Union Hall, Henry Street in Port-of-Spain.
Last Friday, president of the National Union of Government and Federated Workers' James Lambert told protesting workers assembled at the Brian Lara Promenade in Port-of-Spain that the labour movement had given government three "voiceless trade union leaders."
