After the service, sources who wished to remain anonymous, said it was very unfortunate that those incidents occurred during the state funeral. Sir Ellis was later interred at the Lapeyrouse Cemetery, after a procession through the streets of Port-of-Spain.Sources also complained of the lack of solemnity displayed by mourners at the graveside.
