While the first team is away com­pet­ing in the re­gion­al T20 crick­et se­ries, the rest of the na­tion­al play­ers have been busy at work, host­ing their first tri­al match geared to­wards the re­gion­al First Class se­ries at the Na­tion­al Crick­et Cen­tre (NCC) in Cou­va. The two men send­ing no­tices to the na­tion­al se­lec­tors at the end of the game are Mer­ry­boys left hand­ed bats­man Aneil Khan­hai who stroked 143 and leg-spin­ner Emile Ra­jah who grabbed five wick­ets for 45 runs.

Kan­hai, play­ing for the Em­rit XI, scored 143 in his team's first in­nings score of 314. He faced 176 balls and struck 17 fours and four six­es. The Jag­ger­nauth XI made 222 all out in re­ply with Nicholas Alex­is scor­ing 76 and Nicholas Sookdeosingh 68. Ra­jah was the best bowler for his team tak­ing five for 45. Bat­ting a sec­ond time, Em­rit's team reached 282 for sev­en when the match was called off as a draw. Among the runs were Yan­nick Ot­t­ley with un­beat­en 54 and Dave Mo­hammed with 53 not out off 55 balls with four fours and two six­es.
