Asked if it was irregular that he was not consulted regarding Ramnarine's appointment, Griffith said no.
He explained: "I, as the National Security Adviser, attend meetings on the invitation of the Prime Minister but the actual decision-making process takes place by the line minister and the council chaired by the Prime Minister, so I was not involved and I have not seen the questionable resume." He noted that part of his role was to advise the Prime Minister on the relevant qualifications needed for the appointment. He said, however, that the council made the final decision.
