About six months ago, I wrote about the poor condition of the water in Woodbrook, Port-of-Spain, hoping that it would improve by now. Alas, we the resi- dents are still struggling with the problem of dirty water.
Sometimes it is so bad that you cannot even wash clothes. Don't talk about drinking or using it to cook. We have to buy bottled water for that. Again I have to wonder if WASA has shares in a bottling plant.
I don't have to buy coffee anymore as the water is sometimes the same colour. I just have to use my imagination. The worst part is that we have to turn on the tap and let the water run for a few minutes until it gets a little clearer. This at a time when scientists are harping on the limited supply of fresh water on planet Earth.
Further, I was in Blue Range recently and was amazed that I could drink straight from a tap as the water was so clean. Why not Woodbrook? And I'm sure we are not alone in this situation. Granted the water source in Blue Range is not the same as Woodbrook, but that is WASA's problem to deal with, isn't it?
And WASA is bold enough to send a bill and threaten to cut your supply if you don't pay on time. Somebody help.
