Bateau appeared in four of Kansas City's pre-season exhibition matches against the Columbus Crew, Colorado Rapids, Houston Dynamo and the United States Under-18 National Team, all of which were played in Phoenix, Arizona. It is understood that negotiations are taking place towards a deal that will see Cyrus remain with Kansas for the upcoming MLS season. Meanwhile, W Connection duo Shahdon Winchester and Joevin Jones were also released from their trial with Colorado Rapids.
