Funny Farm Factory Productions (FFFP) and Ha Ha Ha Productions will this evening premiere Raw...the stories of love, lust and men who fake it, at Queen's Hall, St Ann's.Raw is the brain child of producers Gregory Singh of FFFP and women, Penelope Spencer and Nikki Crosby, who make up Ha Ha Ha Productions.Just off the CLR James Auditorium stage in Cipriani College, Valsayn, the pair of producers just closed the curtains on their box office hit, The Best Little Whorehouse in Guapo, and has mounted this latest theatrical offering, constructed by Spencer and sewn together by Debra Boucaud-Mason, who donned the hats of writer and director, respectively.
Raw centres around men, women, the ups and downs, twists, turns, and hoops of the relationships in which we engage.Among the highlighted pieces is a battle of the sexes entitled, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, where the men-Nigel Auguste and Conrad Parris-face off in a come-with-yuh-bois, drag-yuh-bow-Mr Fiddler, tongue-lashing against the women-Penelope Spencer and Cecilia Salazar-as they go at it in a spicy who's-better-than-whom speech off.Other cast members are comedienne Nikki Crosby, who expounds in a bitter bitter, funny rant about hitting the big 40, and Debra Boucaud Mason, as you have never seen or heard her before.Raw runs at Queen's Hall until Sunday.
