On stage, she is the ul­ti­mate per­former. Sexy, sassy and styl­ish, Denise Saucy "Wow" Bel­fon can heat up just about any plat­form with her strong vo­cals and eye-pop­ping dance moves. Her hip-sway­ing re­lease on the Swahili rid­dim, dubbed Dance and Din­go­lay, has al­ready been re­ceiv­ing reg­u­lar air­play and is poised to be a ma­jor hit for C2k11. But to those who know her best, the moth­er of four is all about fam­i­ly. "I am a very fam­i­ly-ori­ent­ed woman and the peace-mak­er in the fam­i­ly too," she tells Celebri­ty Christ­mas. Bel­fon tied the knot in 2009 af­ter know­ing her hus­band for the past 21 years!

Q: What do you think of when you hear the word Christ­mas?

A: Hap­pi­ness, chil­dren smil­ing, fam­i­lies, to­geth­er­ness. It just means joy. I al­ways wish that the amount of love I have for my fam­i­ly that every­body feels the same way about theirs.

How ear­ly do you start your Christ­mas prepa­ra­tions?

I start prepar­ing from Oc­to­ber but be­cause my new song, Dance and Din­go­lay, is do­ing so well, I have to give that some pri­or­i­ty. This week com­ing every­thing will be com­plete though.

Do you have a fam­i­ly Christ­mas tra­di­tion?

Yes. Christ­mas Day every­body stays at their re­spec­tive homes but from Box­ing Day to Jan­u­ary 6, every­body goes to each oth­er's hous­es. The clowns of the par­ty- my­self, my sis­ter Keisha and our broth­er Robert- have every­one laugh­ing!

Have your views on Christ­mas changed from when you were a child?

It has you know, but I'm the type of per­son who likes to re­mem­ber the good things. I will re­flect on that and what makes me hap­py and share those mem­o­ries with my fam­i­ly.

Who does the Christ­mas cook­ing in your fam­i­ly?

Me! Every­body looks for­ward to eat­ing from me for Christ­mas. My hus­band, hm­mm...He doh care for any­body else's food!.

What is your 'must have' Christ­mas dish?

I love turkey and I love our tra­di­tion­al glazed ham with the pineap­ples and cher­ries. Al­so, my moth­er's pump­kin bread!

What would be your ide­al 2010 Christ­mas present?

For my­self, my hus­band, my chil­dren and grand­moth­er to have long life, great health and live to see an­oth­er 20 years to­geth­er from 2010 and be­yond!

What is your Christ­mas wish for T&T?

That we re­al­ly take the time to val­ue our youth and give them a hear­ing. And for par­ents who may be sin­gle, to stop in­clud­ing chil­dren in the "big peo­ple" busi­ness. Put your prob­lems aside and deal with them as chil­dren. Don't get them in­volved in the bick­er­ing and fight­ing. I think a lot of the crimes will de­crease if chil­dren on­ly knew that they have a lis­ten­ing ear. I be­lieve it's a lack of love and at­ten­tion that make them turn to the wrong el­e­ments.
