Santa was accompanied by Mrs Claus at the Annual Community Children Christmas Treat hosted by the El Dorado Shiv Mandir (ESM), last Saturday. Approximately 300 of the children from El Dorado and environs cheered loudly to receive the gift giving husband and wife team.
According to Pt Vinai, spiritual head, ESM, "The kids of the area were treated very special with games, bouncey castle, puppet show, lots to eat and drink, and yes, they were all good boys and girls and were given their toy by Santa and Miss Claus. That was the highlight of their evening." ESM president Nirmala Harrylal said: "The mandir has, for the past 20 years, been hosting the community Christmas Treat. The children each year look forward to the event.
It is important even though we are a temple to continue to provide this event for the children. It's about happiness and putting a smile on their face. The greatest gift we can give any child is to ensure they feel happy and smile." Adding to Harrylal's comment, Pt Vinai said: "It's all about the children of the community. As a temple we were fortunate once again this year to receive the support to host the Community Children Christmas Treat once again. Children should always be treated special not just once a year but throughout the year."
