San­ta was ac­com­pa­nied by Mrs Claus at the An­nu­al Com­mu­ni­ty Chil­dren Christ­mas Treat host­ed by the El Do­ra­do Shiv Mandir (ESM), last Sat­ur­day. Ap­prox­i­mate­ly 300 of the chil­dren from El Do­ra­do and en­vi­rons cheered loud­ly to re­ceive the gift giv­ing hus­band and wife team.

Ac­cord­ing to Pt Vinai, spir­i­tu­al head, ESM, "The kids of the area were treat­ed very spe­cial with games, bouncey cas­tle, pup­pet show, lots to eat and drink, and yes, they were all good boys and girls and were giv­en their toy by San­ta and Miss Claus. That was the high­light of their evening." ESM pres­i­dent Nir­mala Har­ry­lal said: "The mandir has, for the past 20 years, been host­ing the com­mu­ni­ty Christ­mas Treat. The chil­dren each year look for­ward to the event.

It is im­por­tant even though we are a tem­ple to con­tin­ue to pro­vide this event for the chil­dren. It's about hap­pi­ness and putting a smile on their face. The great­est gift we can give any child is to en­sure they feel hap­py and smile." Adding to Har­ry­lal's com­ment, Pt Vinai said: "It's all about the chil­dren of the com­mu­ni­ty. As a tem­ple we were for­tu­nate once again this year to re­ceive the sup­port to host the Com­mu­ni­ty Chil­dren Christ­mas Treat once again. Chil­dren should al­ways be treat­ed spe­cial not just once a year but through­out the year."
