It was Christ­mas in ca­lyp­so and pan coun­try at the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah, Port-of-Spain, on No­vem­ber 12, with the host­ing of Christ­mas with Steel­pan and Ca­lyp­so. The event was a pro­duc­tion of the Na­tion­al Car­ni­val Com­mis­sion (NCC) in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Pan Trin­ba­go, and un­der the aus­pices of the Min­istry of Arts and Mul­ti­cul­tur­al­ism, and ran from De­cem­ber 9 to 12.

Two bands were sched­uled to play each night, and play they did, but on the fi­nal night, pan lovers were treat­ed to the sweet, ex­hil­a­rat­ing sounds of Star­lift, Ari­ma Gold­en Sym­pho­ny and Cou­va Joy­lan­ders. Based on the per­for­mances, it is safe to say that the fu­ture of pan is in good hands. Seen at the event were Trade Min­is­ter Stephen Cadiz, cul­tur­al ad­vis­ers Er­rol Pe­ru, Say­eed Ema­mali and sev­er­al cul­tur­al icons.
