My faith in mankind has been restored. On the morning of December 20 at 7.15 in Mt Lambert, my handbag with my entire life in it was stolen from me. I was extremely traumatised and asked a gentleman who saw me in distress for money to travel to the nearest police station. Thank you, whoever you are! I tried to keep calm and proceeded to the nearest police station, where a Woman pc from the San Juan Police Station helped me out by giving me money to travel to see if I could intercept the bag.
Thank you Woman pc, you have no idea how much you helped me! At City Gate, all the transit officers tried to help me locate the maxi that I was travelling in but to no avail. I asked them for money to travel and to borrow their phones and they willingly gave without hesitation. Thank you officers for you kindness, advice and patience with me in my state. I then called home and the police at the La Horquetta Police Station found my bag. Of course all the money was missing including money that was not mine.
I am just glad that I got back most of the items that were of value to me and I was not hurt physically in any way. Thank you, PC Superville, for allowing me to make several phone calls to get someone to pick me up from the station. To the dishonest person who properly searched my bag and stole all my money, karma has a funny way of dealing with thieves. If we lived in a Middle Eastern country and they caught you, you would not have a hand right now.
Last but not least, to the person who brought me back my life (almost) in my bag, words can never express my gratitude towards that kind stranger. People of T&T, please be careful this season and going into the new year with your personal property, as well as with your well being.
