Fire prevention officers are investigating the cause of a fire which broke out on Sunday night at a warehouse on Chootoo Street, Aranguez. A report said smoke was seen coming from the building around 10.50 pm. Firefighters from the San Juan Fire Station responded and contained it.
The owner, who is from the Caroni district, is on vacation aboard. The building houses murtis, decorative flowers and plastics. Arson is suspected and losses are estimated at $2 million, fire officials said.
