Hundreds came out last Saturday night for the annual Yorke Inc Socaparang Cruise, aboard the MV Treasure Queen. Featuring undisputed parang soca king Scrunter, the massive crowd danced the night away to supporting acts, like Grenadian soca artiste Nnika, former Byron Lee & the Dragonaires frontman Oscar B, and DJs CG and DJ Darryl.
It was CG and DJ Darryl who started the ball rolling at exactly midnight, providing a wide variety of music to the delight of the crowd. They ushered on Nnika, performing her 2009 soca hit single–Sweet Sugar Stick–and the versatile Oscar B, who thrilled the crowd with some of his major hits, including Butterfly and Tatti Dance. The Tobago artiste also showed his versatility in rendering smash hit She's Royal.?
But the biggest thrill came from the man of the moment Scrunter, who belted out both big soca tunes–like Judith, Oil in de Coil, Jumbie–and parang soca hits like Home Made Wine, She Gone Parang, Anita and more, which had the crowd jumping, dancing and having great fun till the wee hours of the morning.
