?Warner to Opposition supporters:

Don't fight each other

?UNC chairman Jack Warner has said "a new dawn, a new era" is upon us. He was referring to the deal by Persad-Bissessar and Congress of the People (COP) political leader Winston Dookeran to unite the parties to defeat Manning in the general election. Warner cautioned Opposition supporters against fighting each other and supporters from their own parties. He stressed that the Opposition had one enemy–the PNM. He made an appeal to supporters to be patient for soon they will be freed from the PNM. Warner said he found it strange the Prime Minister would allow PNM MP Keith Rowley to fight the Diego Martin West seat for the party although he portrayed Rowley as tainted. He expressed suspicion over Manning's motive for nominating Rowley to fight the seat. Warner said he also found it amazing Manning was willing to work with Rowley after launching repeated attacks on Rowley in the recent past.

He said it was a clear indication that Rowley was vindicated with respect to his concerns about corrupt operations at the State-owned Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago. Warner stressed that the local population should not support Manning because he was willing to sacrifice and humiliate one of his own people–Rowley–who expressed reservations about wrongdoing. Speakers included the Head of the Movement for Social Justice, trade unionist David Abdulah. He said on May 24 citizens of T&T would be able to get rid of the "albatross" around their necks, which he described as Patrick Manning and the PNM. Incumbent St Augustine MP, Vasant Bharath, using words from PNM MP Dr Keith Rowley to describe the financial state of the country, "The money done." He said the PNM government was trying to raise money "chirrup, chirrup" through forcing the failed property tax reformation on the population.
