T&T rebounded from its 3-0 defeat against Bahamas in its first match in Group A of the 2010 Fed Cup American Group 11 with a similar win over Dominican Republic at the National Tennis Club, Guayaquil, Ecuador, on Wednesday. US based Lee-Ann Lingo, who is still recovering from a shoulder injury, battled from a set down to eventually pull off a three-set win over Daysi Eunice Espinal.
Espinal took the first set 3-6, however Lingo picked herself up and took the second set 6-4, before closing off the third set in similar fashion. In the other singles match, Oliver Bennett made light work of Diana Espinal, winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. T&T closed off the match-up as Dayna Grazette and Breana Stampfli came back from a set down to defeat Paloma Castillo and Maria Clara Bernardez 2-6, 6-1, 7-5.
T&T was expected to take on Costa Rica yesterday at the same venue.
