Team Foundation's Adam Alexander became T&T's first ever Omnium champion when he won its inaugural staging on the last day of the National Cycling Championships at the Arima Velodrome yesterday. Alexander, who is ranked 19th in the world in the multiple race event, beat his national teammate Haseem McLean (second) and Sheldon Ramjit (third) to nab the gold.
It marked the 24-year-old's second gold medal of the Championships after he and Foundation's Roger Malco, King Ettiene and David Hay rode to the Team Pursuit title on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Varun Maharaj won the Junior Omnium ahead of Justin Roberts and Christian Failey, who placed second and third respectively. (NC)
