The Trinidad and To­ba­go Crick­et Board (TTCB) will be host­ing a na­tion­al fo­rum on the way for­ward for crick­et on Sep­tem­ber 26 at the Preysal High School. This was re­vealed by pres­i­dent of the TTCB, Az­im Bas­sarath yes­ter­day. He said that the con­tri­bu­tions made at this fo­rum would be in­cor­po­rat­ed in­to the board's strate­gic plan for the next year. Ac­cord­ing to Bas­sarath: "At the on­set when we took over the con­trol of the TTCB, I said that we would have open di­a­logue with all stake­hold­ers of crick­et and we plan to stick to that.

"The ex­ec­u­tive met and de­cid­ed to host this fo­rum which we think is very im­por­tant as we put to­geth­er our strate­gic plan for the com­ing year. We are go­ing to as­sem­ble a pow­er­ful pan­el of speak­ers who would in­ter­act with of­fi­cials and mem­bers of all clubs in Trinidad and To­ba­go and we are hop­ing to get some use­ful in­for­ma­tion that we can work with, as we move for­ward."

Bas­sarath con­tin­ued: "We are go­ing to in­vite every crick­et club in the coun­try to send rep­re­sen­ta­tives to this fo­rum and we are al­so get­ting the women's crick­et board, the um­pires, the mi­nor leagues, the sec­ondary school league and the pri­ma­ry school league in­volved in this. "We are all very con­cerned about the fu­ture of West In­dies crick­et and as such we have to make sure that crick­et in our coun­try is as strong as pos­si­ble. We must do our part and we are start­ing from home."
