The Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) will be hosting a national forum on the way forward for cricket on September 26 at the Preysal High School. This was revealed by president of the TTCB, Azim Bassarath yesterday. He said that the contributions made at this forum would be incorporated into the board's strategic plan for the next year. According to Bassarath: "At the onset when we took over the control of the TTCB, I said that we would have open dialogue with all stakeholders of cricket and we plan to stick to that.
"The executive met and decided to host this forum which we think is very important as we put together our strategic plan for the coming year. We are going to assemble a powerful panel of speakers who would interact with officials and members of all clubs in Trinidad and Tobago and we are hoping to get some useful information that we can work with, as we move forward."
Bassarath continued: "We are going to invite every cricket club in the country to send representatives to this forum and we are also getting the women's cricket board, the umpires, the minor leagues, the secondary school league and the primary school league involved in this. "We are all very concerned about the future of West Indies cricket and as such we have to make sure that cricket in our country is as strong as possible. We must do our part and we are starting from home."
