Pac­er Ravi Ram­paul was a wel­come sight on the crick­et field yes­ter­day, as he turned out for Kyle Hope's XI against Mar­lon Richards' XI in the sec­ond na­tion­al tri­al for the up­com­ing Re­gion­al Su­per50 crick­et se­ries at the Queen's Park Oval.

Ram­paul who has been play­ing Coun­ty crick­et since com­ing out of the West In­dies scene, is look­ing to make a come­back and yes­ter­day 1/21 of five overs in his spell.

Bat­ting first, Kyle Hope's XI made a sol­id 255 for six wick­ets with wick­et­keep­er Steven Kat­wa­roo scor­ing an un­beat­en 45. He forged a use­ful part­ner­ship of 60 with West In­dies Un­der-19 play­er Jyd Goolie, who made 42 not out. Al­so among the runs were Ewart Nichol­son 36, Yan­nick Ot­t­ley 36, Hope him­self 33 and Kjorn Ot­t­ley 27. Spin­ner Ricky Jaipaul con­tin­ued to im­press with 2/33, while all rounder Roshon Primus grabbed 2/27.

In re­ply, Richards' XI was bowled out for 115 in 31.2 overs with Ja­son Mo­hammed get­ting 20 and the in­form Yan­nic Car­ri­ah 21. Spin­ner Bryan Charles took 3/19, Philton Williams 2/14 and Khary Pierre 2/18.
