St Ann's Rangers continued their winning streak in the Women's Football League (WoLF) Super League on Saturday when they hammered Point Fortin Pioneers 7-0 at the Carenage Recreation Ground.
The prolific Natasha St Louis led her team's campaign with a hat-trick, followed by a double from Ranae Ward and individual strikes from Kaydeen Jack and Tisha-Leah Pope. St Louis opened the scoring in the 39th minute and added two more goals in the 61st and 75th minute. Ward's items came in the 65th and 73rd while Jack and Pope rounded off the scoring in the 41st and 79th respectively.
The Pioneers, weakened by the unavailability of a few key players, were unable to muster a response and have sunk to second from bottom on the standings with just a point from four matches. The victory was the fourth on a trot for the St Ann's outfit, following their 3-1 triumph over Queen's Park CC last week. They now sit on the top of the eight-team standings on 12 points with 13 goals scored and two received.
Their closest rival, second place WI Sports Real Dimensions hammered Club Sando 9-0. Their attractive smooth-passing game earned them the opening goal from defender Jenelle Cunningham in the ninth minute and later a hat-trick from Jermelia Mathlin in the 11th, 25th and 33rd minute.
Telesia Joseph and Shenelle Henry completed a 6-0 half-time lead before Joseph added her second in the 59th and Tamika Isaac (53rd) and Kachelle Clark completing the rout.
Meanwhile, third on the table St Augustine FC were also triumphant at the weekend, thrashing the Queen's Park, also known popularly as the Parkites 3-1. It took 14 minutes before the St Augustine women could open the scoring through Kedie Johnson.
The Parkites had hardly recovered when St Augustine added another goal in the 16th minute. QPCC pulled a goal back in the 75th from Christine Rose and seem heading for the equaliser, until they were stopped in their tracks a minute later. Nadine Liverpool ended their hopes of a recovery with her goal in the 76th minute, which also assured their position on the standings in the Super League.
In another Super League clash Petrotrin got a lone strike from the boot Dernelle Mascall in the 87th minute to seal a 1-0 win over Tobago Chicas.
In the First Division Adanya Phillip fired in five goals asTrincity Nationals continued to slaughter their opponents in the division, coming away with a 9-0 thrashing of Central United at the New Settlement Recreation Ground in Caroni. The other goals for Trincity Nationals came from Shenelle Warrick, Kelsey Henry, Elisa Olivero and Nickisha James.
The win has placed the easterners atop the standings with an unblemished record of four wins in as many matches on 12 points. They have scored an amazing 35 goals to date and are yet to conceed their first goal for the season.
In another game Diego Martin edged St Augustine 3-2 at the Real Maracas Recreation Ground in St Joseph.
