T&T Olympic athlete Keshorn Walcott will defend his Olympic gold in the Men's Javellin competiton on Saturday after throwing the furthest of all athletes on Wednesday night.
No other athlete came close to Walcott's 88.68 metre throw, with the closest competitor being Germany's Johaness Vetter with a throw of 85.96.
Walcott is the 2012 Olympic champion in the javellin event and was the first Caribbean athlete to win gold in the event in the history of the Olympics.
Walcott's best javellin throw is 90.16, which he accomplished in July 2015.
The final of the competition will take place on Saturday at 7.55 pm.
