Seven people were injured in an accident this morning on the westbound lane of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in the vicinity of the Santa Rosa race track, Arima.
At about 7.50 am two vehicles collided with each other. A panel van collided into an electric pole along the highway.
Four women and three men were injured in the accident. They were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope.
Rush hour westbound traffic as far back as the Omera intersection was brought to a virtual standstill, as drivers slowed to gawk at the wreckage, in spite of the efforts of police at the scene to redirect traffic onto the shoulder.
