Hollywood Ken will undoubtedly be a serious target for 'each-way thieves' today, in the nine-runner 2-y-o Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs of 'good to soft' Catterick, where a low draw is imperative; Keith Dalgleish's charge is berthed two while forecast 'hot favourite' Mohab will be drawn widest!
Although Hollywood Ken subsequently disappointed over six at Carlisle I'm convinced this trip is what he requires; with three places on offer he looks the classic place chance.'Each-way thieving' is all about being totally satisfied that only three (at most!) can make the frame, nothing compares to working out a 'process of elimination!'
Probability is Mohab will indeed be 'on the premises' but he faces a daunting task which may result in his jockey being negative if all chance is gone and, of course, we don't know whether the Mark Johnston-trained newcomer Second Service is useful. This ticks all boxes for an each-way wager and if there is something similar elsewhere we might just play a double; they are devastating, the best bets, without doubt.
Two other bets in set-weight juvenile races are Dal Harrald and Lazzam, both from' fashionable'in-form' yards of William Haggas and Marcus Botti respectively.Dal Harrald ran well on debut at Newmarket last month and is definitely up to winning tyhe 2-y-o Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs on 'good to firm' Salisbury while twice-raced Lazzam looks a real 'special' for the mile maiden on Chelmsford polytrack.
Lazzam improved considerably when runner-up on a similar surface at Lingfield under Martin Harley who, significantly, is booked again, napped. We're displaying www.dailyearner.co.uk later to facilitate any 'late news' or information; you'll benefit, for sure!
