Eight new Rotarians were inducted by District Governor, Herv Honor, during January which was Rotary Awareness Month.
Honore from Martinique, is the District Governor for District 7030 which comprises clubs from St Kitts & Nevis in the north through to French Guiana in the south.
A release from the club said this event took place at a special joint meeting held at the Roof Top restaurant, Mt Hope Medical Sciences Complex. Approximately 100 Rotarians attended along with their Partners in Service as well as the families of the inductees. Last October, the District Governor challenged all clubs to recruit new members and have a joint meeting during this, his last official visit to clubs in T&T.
During his address, the District Governor expressed his gratitude to the clubs who recruited new members. He also reiterated what the roles and responsibilities were for the new Rotarians. Special mention was made of Mr and Mrs Benjamin who were two of the inductees as both their children are interactors.
District Governor also pinned two Paul Harris Fellows: Rotarian Cheryl-Ann Jordon of the Rotary Club of Maracas/St Joseph and Orlando Nagessar, former Mayor of Chaguanas.
The event was organised by the Rotary Club of St Augustine West, assistant governors Dr Balmattee Sukha and Wayne Nanan, along with the Presidents of clubs with the new Inductees.
