Should a PNM preferred bidder/financier, a UNC preferred bidder/financier or a COP preferred bidder/financier get the Beetham US$100 million (TT$652 million) Water Recycling Plant state contract? This is what the politicians are really arguing about under the cover of parliamentary business. The PNM tabled the project in Parliament when they last held office. So they are only grand charging now about it to keep the other party financiers from getting this contract.
This is why all political parties ought to publicly disclose the sources of all finances in cash, kind or other formats given to them. Party financiers gift profits from state contracts to political parties so they will lobby on their behalf for more state contracts. This revolving cycle will only end with party financing rules.
