San Fernando police are seeking the public's help in identifying a woman who was found stabbed to death at Robertson Street early yesterday.Police reports state that shortly after 1 am, an anonymous caller contacted the San Fernando police station and reported that a body was seen on Roberston Street, off Leotaud Street, San Fernando.Officers visited the scene at 1.20 am and found the body near a mango tree in an abandoned lot.Inspectors Mohammed, Ramkhelawan and Griffith visited the scene.
The body was that of a East Indian woman, fair in complexion, slim built, in her mid-thirties. The woman also had short black hair and was 5ft, 3 inches in height.Officers said there were multiple stab wounds to the woman's body, including; chest, back, stomach and legs.She was semi-nude. Her pants were pulled down to her knees and her top was pulled up to her chest.Officers said the body appeared to have been dragged to the area where it was found.
The body was clad in a purple top, white long pants and pair of pink slippers.Cpl Fortune of Southern Division Homicide is continuing investigations.In an unrelated incident, a family lime ended in tragedy yesterday after Princes Town resident Deodath Ramlochan was stabbed to death.A close male relative has been detained by police in connection with Ramlochan's death. He remains in custody.
Police reports state that around 2.30 pm Ramlochan was liming and drinking at his Solomon Street, Princes Town home when he got into an altercation with a male relative.During the altercation the relative grabbed a knife and stabbed Ramlochan twice in the neck.The Emergency Health Services ambulance was contacted and Ramlochan was taken to the Princes Town District Health facility where he died while undergoing emergency treatment.
ASP Williams, together with Insp Gajadhar and Sgt Persad, visited the scene along with Homicide officers and Crime Scene Investigators. Investigations are continuing.
