The Milo Harvard Club Football Clinic produces more than just good athletes, says psychologist Franklyn Dolly.
Delivering the feature address at yesterday's graduation ceremony held at the Harvard Club on Serpentine Road, St Clair, Dolly told the young footballers: "It is in giving that we receive. You went to your coaches who have been giving you throughout this clinic and today they have received. It is a tremendous part of life. I never went to coaches and told them what a great job they were doing, not just as a clinic coach, but as a person building character, qualities that this country now lacks."
Dolly wished the club well saying: "May God bless all of you as we continue on our journey of building a country and a nation built on character."
Anthony Loregnard, president of the Harvard Club said almost 40 years after the clinic began with 50 attendees, and a relationship with Nestle T&T, which began back in 1994, it had grown from strength to strength.
"The relationship continues today and is responsible for the tremendous success of the Clinic which attracts some 185 boys and girls, who register to participate in the clinic each year," he said.
Loregnard lauded the contributions of the 23 coaches headed by Winston Phillips who work tirelessly every Sunday.
Marc Clarke, event and sponsorship manager at Nestle said the company was pleased to have sponsored the Clinic which represented a relationship that held for two decades.
"This relationship started 20 years ago, when Milo was approached to sponsor this event. Since then, we have seen this clinic grow from strength to strength and as such are very pleased to have been associated with such excellence in sport. We will continue to support activities, which promotes nutrition, health and wellness, especially when it comes to our youth development programmes," he said.
