Siparia and En­ter­prise both had their dream run in the Hoop of Life Com­mu­ni­ty Bas­ket­ball League come to an abrupt end over the week­end, as the two teams suf­fered their first loss­es of the cam­paign.

En­ter­prise was dropped 69-57 by Long­denville, which had a strong sec­ond-half per­for­mance to take away an easy win.

Af­ter falling be­hind 17-13 in the first quar­ter, En­ter­prise put on a brave per­for­mance in the sec­ond pe­ri­od to trail by a soli­tary point. How­ev­er, the zon­al leader fell to the host once again in the third pe­ri­od, which end­ed 46-40 and nev­er man­aged to re­verse the score.

For the vic­tors, Long­denville, which stands on three wins and as many loss­es, Tyson Gan­darew led the way with 16 points, while Joel Mor­gan and El­ton Crichlow sup­port­ed with 14 and 13 points, re­spec­tive­ly.

Austin Ralph led all scor­ers with 17 points for En­ter­prise, fol­lowed by Kofi Camp­bell who added 15.

On Sat­ur­day, De­von Mad­dell scored an in­cred­i­ble 48 points to be­come the league's high­est points scor­er in a 73-67 vic­to­ry for Pa­lo Seco over Siparia at Ben­nette Vil­lage Bas­ket­ball Court, San­ta Flo­ra.

Pa­lo Seco's sur­prise win end­ed Siparia's six-match vic­to­ry streak. It was re­venge for Pa­lo Seco, which lost 71-64 the first time the two teams met this sea­son at Ir­win Park.

The win­ning team held the ad­van­tage through­out the en­counter 17-16, 21-20, 17-16 and 18-15.

Wadell scored 23 of his record points to­tal in the sec­ond half of the match.

Shem Grant led for Siparia with 18 points.

Al­so on Sat­ur­day, for­ward Mikhail Scoon record­ed a sea­son-best 27 points which guid­ed St Joseph to a 66-59 win over Tu­na­puna Unit­ed at the St Joseph Bas­ket­ball Court.
