PALM HAR­BOUR– Trinidad and To­ba­go's Stephen Ames card­ed a one-over 72 in the fi­nal round of the US$5.5 mil­lion Tam­pa Bay Cham­pi­onship here yes­ter­day.

Start­ing the day at the Cop­per­head Course of the In­nis­brook Re­sort just five shots off the lead, Ames en­dured a bo­gey-filled round to fin­ish even-par 284. He even­tu­al­ly fin­ished tied in 30th place with Bryce Mold­er, George Mc­Neil, Ryan Palmer, Er­ic Comp­ton, Jim­my Walk­er and Adam Scott.

Britain's Kevin Streel­man won the ti­tle with a gross 274, af­ter card­ing a five un­der par 67 in yes­ter­day's fi­nal round.

Boo Week­ley who en­joyed his best round yes­ter­day with a nine un­der 63, was sec­ond with a gross 276 while just one shot back was Cameron Tringate whose six un­der yes­ter­day, was his best round of the com­pe­ti­tion.

Justin Leonard, Luke Don­ald and Greg Chalmers tied for fourth with 278.
