PowerGen and Proman are yet to register a win in the SIS Industrial Cricket League and locked horns on Wednesday in the lone fixture over at California Ground in California.
Proman took first strike and got an excellent start from openers Wilton Vincent and Randy Ramoutar. Ramoutar was the more aggressive of the pair as he blasted thirty six, which included four sixes, while Vincent played a supportive role with his single-filled fifteen.
Proman eventually got to 73, losing four wickets along the way.
Powergen had an almost identical start in their reply. Openers Mario Guran and Ramnarine Nowrang's partnership produced 43 runs before Guran went caught off the bowling of Leon Ghourlal for fifteen. Nowrang stayed his turn at the crease and blazed four sixes on his way to an inning high thirty five. K Kowlessar came in at number five after Powergen were three wickets down with 64 runs and played a good cameo hitting a six and a four as he saw his team to a comfortable victory with four balls to spare.
Powergen secured their first win of the tournament.
