Half-centuries from Deonarine Deyal and Earnil Ryan yesterday led Orange Field and Glenora into the finals of the TTCB Courts T20 Championship competition at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva.Deyal top-scored with 58 for Orange Field as they crushed Endeavour Sports by eight wickets. Chasing 130 for victory, Deyal was ably supported by his opening partner Mark Gajhadar, who made 47. The pair shared in a 86-run opening stand that set up the win.
Earlier, Jodhan Manohar fell one short of a half-century that guided Endeavour to 129/7 off their 20 overs. Fazil Baksh pitched in with 24, while Raid Adam was the best bowler for Orange Field, snatching 2/21 in four overs.In the other semifinal, Glenora needed a super over to get past Triumph by five runs. Batting first, Glenora posted a competitive 149/6 behind Ryan's knock of 51. Kwinsi Williams also contributed 44 to the score. Alex Fredricks (2/24) and Damain Peters (2/25) took two wickets apiece for Triumph.
In their run chase, Triumph made 149/8 with Johnaton top-scoring with 44. Steve Fraser tried his best to limit the Triumph batsmen, grabbing 4/20. Glenora eventually prevailed in the super over to advance to Saturday's final where they will face Orange Field. The final will be played at the Caldrac Ground from 7 pm.
