Andy Ro­driguez de­liv­ered an un­beat­able per­for­mance at Sun­day's Na­tion­al Se­nior Body Build­ing and Fit­ness Cham­pi­onship to emerge as Mr T&T held at the Ball­room of the Cas­ca­dia Ho­tel and Con­fer­ence Cen­tre on Ari­api­ta Road in St Ann's, Port-of-Spain.

The pro­duc­tion by the T&T Body Builder and Fit­ness Fed­er­a­tion (TTBBFF) al­so saw Lisa Fer­nan­des cop the Miss T&T ti­tle to earn the right to join Ro­driguez in the spot­light.

They both scored con­vinc­ing vic­to­ries, how­ev­er.

Kel­ton Thomas, Dex­ter Lit­tre­an, Nor­man Sorzano and Nigel Tenia were Ro­driguez's ri­vals in the mas­ters class, where he put the mus­cle on them.

He re­peat­ed this feat in the men's light heavy­weight class (Up to 90KG). Nor­man Sorzano and Nigel Tenia were his chal­lengers be­fore com­plet­ing his im­pres­sive string of vic­to­ries at least in at the na­tion­al lev­el in the men's over­all round.

With Mon­isa Ale­ong's re­turn to com­pe­ti­tion in the body-fit­ness open class, T'Chelle Har­ris could not re­peat her vic­to­ry at this year's Sport World Clas­sic.

And, for yet an­oth­er stag­ing of com­pe­ti­tion, the ti­tle elud­ed fit­ness gu­ru Fiona Branker.

The au­di­ence was vis­i­bly un­easy about her third place slot­ting by the pan­el of physique and body sculpt­ing ad­ju­di­ca­tors.

Fol­low­ing the week­end show­case, it would seem that the Mr Physique con­test is made for Rocky Kew­ley. Ra­dio pre­sen­ter Ak­e­na­ton (Ken) Sim­mons chal­lenged him for the ti­tle for the sec­ond time this year, but the view of the judges Kew­ley was the bet­ter ath­lete.

Tim­o­thy Lewis placed third in this cat­e­go­ry which was small­er by al­most five com­peti­tors com­ing out the ju­nior ver­sion of the event, while well-loved and ex­cit­ing Miss Biki­ni Open Class was won by Car­ciea Samuel. She had to fend off op­po­si­tion from Jamie-Lee Phillips, Abeni Pro­cope and Natasha Ali. This cat­e­go­ry al­so field­ed a re­duced num­ber of en­trants when com­pared to the ju­nior lev­el of the event back in June.

Sun­day's com­pe­ti­tion wel­comed new cham­pi­ons. They were Ja­maul Sander­son in the men's wel­ter weight class and free­lance jour­nal­ist Cori Baynes in the men's light di­vi­sion.

Mean­while vet­er­ans Shim­ron Sook­er­many in the men's light mid­dleweight class (Up to 75KG) and Kel­ton Thomas in the men's ban­tam weight (Up to 65KG) crushed their op­po­nents to walk away with top ac­co­lades on the night.
