A me­chan­ic sus­pect­ed of the 2009 mur­der of a mur­der ac­cused, who was shot dead on the steps of the Rio Claro Mag­is­trates Court, was shot dead in a dri­ve-by at his home yes­ter­day.Agos­ti­ni Vil­lage, Rio Claro res­i­dents were jolt­ed by gun­shots ring­ing out at 42-year-old Sher­win Wil­son's home and found his body ly­ing face down in his garage.Po­lice said short­ly be­fore noon, Wil­son was work­ing at his home when a car drove up and some­one in the ve­hi­cle fired sev­er­al shots, hit­ting him in the back and head. He was sus­pect­ed of shoot­ing Pe­ter Gar­cia mul­ti­ple times out­side the Rio Claro Mag­is­trates Court in 2009.

Wil­son was de­tained and lat­er re­leased af­ter Gar­cia's killing as po­lice could not gath­er enough ev­i­dence to charge him with the mur­der. Gar­cia had been charged with the mur­der of chut­ney pro­mot­er Sim­boonath Ku­mar. He was al­so the main sus­pect in the mur­ders of broth­ers Ja­son and Ger­ard Gar­cia, Cur­tis Roy and Wayne Gon­za­les of Agos­ti­ni Vil­lage, Rio Claro dur­ing a wave of at­tacks in 2009.He elud­ed cap­ture by hid­ing out in the Rio Claro for­est but sub­se­quent­ly sur­ren­dered to po­lice.
