My recent electricity bill has given me cause for concern as it has worked out to be nearly $100 more than I had anticipated. For years I have always checked my daily average usage of units and for years that average has been between 28 and 31 per day. My records show that beginning in August that average began to climb from 32.8 on a reading on August 4, to a peak of 35.05 in October.
Additionally I noted that the two alarm clocks in the house began to read 10 minutes fast from an original setting done about three weeks previously.
Outside of a new/replacement air-condition unit five years ago and a new/replacement toaster oven six months ago the electrical units in my house have remained the same. We did everything possible to get the units to decline–used the drier and air-conditioner less, no electric oven, but all to no avail as the units kept climbing. Imagine my surprise then, after showing an overall average for the two months of 34.4, the average began to decline and readings from the end of October through November have declined to an average of 30 daily units.
We have gone back to our normal routine regarding usage from early October, and there have been no changes to our electrical equipment, and lo and behold the alarm clocks are keeping good time. I can only assume that T&TEC is ripping me off. I say they owe me at least $90 on my last bill, as proven above.
Lastly, I might add two people who received their respective bills in mid-October found them to be on the high side. Can you imagine how much T&TEC must have ripped off the people of Petit Valley in these last two months? Millions! But then again T&TEC may have an explanation particularly how my alarm clocks have righted themselves!
