Four babies were born in Tobago on Christmas Day and secretary of Health and Social Services of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Claudia Groome-Duke was on hand to greet them at the Scarborough General Hospital.Groome-Duke presented hampers to the four lucky mothers on the Maternity Ward.
Kammesia Stewart, 29 of Patience Hill, was the mother of the first baby girl to be born in Tobago. The baby was born at 12.41 am and weighed 3.12 kgs. Stewart said this was her fourth child and described the experience as easy. She said while she prayed for a boy she was grateful her baby was healthy.Kammesia has not decided on a name for her baby.The second baby was also a girl. She was born at 2.15 am at 2.74kgs to 19-year-old Kelsie Paul, of Belle Garde .
The first-time mother said she was happy and joyous to have her baby born on Christmas Day. She plans to name her baby Jadeice Cupid. Kelsie's Christmas wish for her baby is that she grows healthy and becomes a great person.The third baby to be born was a boy at 10.25am to Kimberley Nichols, 29, of Moriah.
The baby weighed 3.78kgs. Kinberley wishes for good health and strength for her baby boy. The fourth baby was born to Rhonda Phillip 30, of Delaford.The baby boy came into the world at 11.12 am at 3.73kgs.
