Adam's Construction San Juan Jabloteh missed its chance to go on top of the Digicel T&T Pro League after being made to settle for a 1-1 draw against holding champions Defence Force in the second match of a double header, played at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima, on Friday night. Pro League leading scorer Richard Roy bagged his ninth effort of the season, as early as the ninth minute to give Defence Force a 1-0 lead. The lead, however, lasted just until the 41st minute when Jason Marcano put Jabloteh level 1-1, a score which would stand until the end. A win for Jabloteh would have seen the team go a point clear over current leaders W Connection. The team crept up one place to joint-second with Caledonia, both of which are on 20 points. The match followed a 2-1 win for St Ann's Rangers over DirecTV North East Stars in the opening encounter.
In the opener, St Ann's Rangers survived a late scare when at 2-0 up, veteran attacker Gary Glasgow pulled a goal back for North East Stars with five minutes to go. It was too late, however, as National under-23 striker Cameron Roget's tap-in in the fourth minute and a freak own goal from Stars' Glenton Wolfe in the 22nd proved to be the deciders. Unfortunately for North East Stars, the team could not muster the same comeback performance on Tuesday against Police at the Ato Boldon Stadium, when the team trailed to eventually take the match 3-2. The result means Rangers go level with their opponents on the day, North East Stars on 12 points. W Connection leads the eight-team table with 21 points, one more than Caledonia and Jabloteh, both of which are on 20 points.
