Diego Martin All Stars' women's outfit struggled even more to keep up with its opponent, when the team faced a ruthless Police, which went on to win its ninth consecutive match of the season 84-58 in the Mackeson Super 10 Basketball League Women's Division, on Tuesday night. The transformation of the Police team saw it win every match since the campaign began. In fact, Police won more matches this year (2011/2012) than for the past three years combined. The team now has every indication of one that can go on to take the women's crown without trouble.
The score card read similarly to most of the matches that Police has played in with the team taking a 21-12 lead at the first hurdle, and an even wider 47-26 score at the half. The match was all but lost for Diego Martin as they trailed 60-43 heading into the final period. Rhonda John-Davis, who has had an outstanding season to date, poured in 34 points, and grabbed 19 rebounds, for a tremendous double double, while Tressa Brathwaite added 13 points and four rebounds. For Diego Martin which concluded their season with a 3-7 record, their best player-Anika Nottingham scored 21 points and three rebounds.
