I re­cent­ly trav­elled on both of our fast fer­ries, the T&T Spir­it and the T&T Ex­press, and was a bit dis­turbed to see the hor­ri­ble con­di­tion that both of them are in. Seats are bro­ken and torn, piv­ot ta­bles for plac­ing your food tray on are ei­ther bro­ken or miss­ing, and in­deed the whole of the in­side area looks drab. There al­so seems to be no con­trol­ling of pas­sen­gers that use the jour­ney for sleep­ing and in most cas­es they oc­cu­py three to four seats in so do­ing. Are there no of­fi­cials on board to con­trol the num­ber of seats al­lowed per pas­sen­ger? And what about the main­te­nance of the in­te­ri­or? I trav­elled with 21 Aus­tralian na­tion­als who came to To­ba­go to sight­see and in­deed this ini­tial ex­pe­ri­ence was not a nice one for us. Can the au­thor­i­ties please do some­thing ur­gent­ly to lift the im­age of our fast fer­ries, eg an over­haul of the in­ner ac­com­mo­da­tion area?
