W Connection, winner of the Under-13 and Under-15 divisions last season, opened its account in the Oasis Youth Pro League 2012 campaign with wins in against San Juan Jabloteh in all three divisions at Gilbert Park, Couva, on Sunday. The fluctuating age divisions, which are now the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 divisions were all in action on the day, with W Connection stamping its intentions by taking wins, all of which were by two goals or more.
Connection started well with a 4-2 win in the Under-14 division. Terrell Williams struck a brace, with goals in either half, which Isaiah Hudson and Kareem Riley scored the first two goals for W Connection. Anthony Samuel and Yevan Rajpaul scored Jabloteh's two goals. The team followed up by an even more respectable result, 4-1 over the same opponents but in the Under-16 division. Both Nicholas Dillon and Yaefu Rougier bagged a brace a piece for Connection, while Kadeem Corbin scored the consolation for Jabloteh. In the Under-18 division, Emmanuel Francis and Rondell Phillip scored a goal each in either half to secure a 2-0 result and whitewash for W Connection on its opening day.
St Ann's Rangers took 3-0 wins in all three divisions against T&TEC, albeit by default. After a 2-1 loss to Defence Force in the Under-14 division, North East Stars' Under-16 and Under-18 teams returned to the Haig St Recreation Ground, Carenage venue to record 5-1 and 2-0 wins, respectively against the same opponents. Caledonia AIA and Police were in action in the other three matches at the St Joseph Convent Ground, St Clair, with Police's Under-14 boys only able to produce a 2-2 draw. In the Under-16 and Under-18 matches, the Morvant/ Laventille club whipped the "lawboys" 5-0 and 3-2, respectively.
