An 18-year-old Gas­par­il­lo youth who went miss­ing four days af­ter he re­port­ed­ly robbed a clothes store was found dead in Siparia on Fri­day night. Po­lice be­lieve Dar­ius "Nunky" Bai­ley was mur­dered as his hands and feet were bound with plas­tic, while his body ap­peared to be in a state of de­com­po­si­tion with the low­er jaw miss­ing. Bai­ley, of Guaracara Street, was last seen alive by his fam­i­ly last Mon­day.

Around 5.30 pm an anony­mous caller led po­lice to the body that was ly­ing 100 feet off a dirt track at Mur­ray Trace. At his home yes­ter­day, his sis­ter Trudy said Bai­ley, the youngest of eight sib­lings, was mis­led by a man who re­cent­ly moved in­to the area. "He did not lis­ten to his friends when they tell him not to lime with this per­son (name called). Is the first time he ever do any­thing like a rob­bery," she said.

Trudy said a sur­veil­lance cam­era at the store in San Fer­nan­do two Thurs­days ago record­ed the in­ci­dent and her broth­er was the on­ly one who showed his face. She said on Mon­day he left home to lime with his friends, but was seen leav­ing the area with the man he was warned to stay away from. Bai­ley's rel­a­tives sus­pect acid was thrown on his face.

His fa­ther Michael said when he went to iden­ti­fy his son's body he had no face. "All it had where his face sup­pose to be is teeth at­tached to the gum. He had no jaw," he said. The fam­i­ly is call­ing for jus­tice. Po­lice held two peo­ple for ques­tion­ing but have since re­leased one. Cpl Cori is in­ves­ti­gat­ing. Mean­while, po­lice found hu­man skele­tal re­mains along M2 Ring Road in Debe on Fri­day night. The re­mains have been sent to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre in Port-of-Spain. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
