Former national fast bowler Kyron Lynch grabbed 4/28 to help his team Valients to an innings and 63 runs in their round six Colfire South Championship clash against Clarke Rochard in Barrackpore. Batting first Clarke Rochard was bowled out for 120 with Xavier Richards (3/24) and Akeil Timothy (3/34) the main destroyers. In reply, Valients led by a brilliant century by Marcus Richards reached 377 all out. Batting a second time with a deficit of 257 runs, Clarke Rochard was bowled out for 194, as Lynch with 4/28 proved too much. The win puts Valients in third spot on 87 points,four behind leaders Evergreen who are on 91. In second place is F&E Diamond United with 90 points. On the weekend, Diamond also claimed an outright victory, getting past St Mary's Superstars by seven wickets. St Mary's taking first strike made 111 all out with Chad Persadie 3/15 and the veteran Anand Ajodha 3/22 playing his first game, doing the damage. Diamond in difficult batting conditions responded with 170/9 declared. The man carrying the side was Ricardo Jadoonath who got 70. St Mary's continued to struggle in their second turn at the crease and was bombed out for 130, as Jadoonath turned star with the ball and grabbed 4/28. He then scored an unbeaten 11, as Diamond reached their victory target at 73/3.
