An unbeaten 97 from Sashtri Ramdeo inspired Palmiste Sports Club to a four-wicket win over Ragoonanan Sports Club in the final of the Vehicle Maintenance Company of Trinidad and Tobago (VMCOTT) Sunday limited overs competition. The event was organised by the Caroni Cricket Association (CCA) and saw a total of 12 teams compete. The final, which bowled off last Sunday at the Palmiste Recreational ground, saw Ragoonanan Road Sports Club make 216 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 30 overs. In reply, the home team easily met its target of 217 in 28 overs with the loss of just four wickets, thanks to some handy work from top scorer Ramdeo who just fell three runs short of a century.
