Jamaican Renae Temple was voted the women's Most Valuable Player as her Technocrats club dominated the individual accolades while retaining the third annual Mark Daly Invitational Volleyball Tournament trophy at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo on Sunday night.
In the women's decider, Technocrats A defeated Glamoragn 25-17; 25-21; 25-22 for the winner-take-all $6,000 first prize. Temple was also named Best Spiker while teammates Samantha Prescott (Best Passer and Best Server), Andrea Kinsale (Best Blocker), and Arielle Folkes (Best Setter) shared in the individual awards. Glamorgan's Rechez Lindsay copped the Best Defender and Best Libero trophies as well as being named as the Mark Daly Rising Star.
Meanwhile, Zenith Volleyball Club was awarded the Russell Mckend Fair Play Award. The recently deceased McKend, was a former T&T Volleyball Federation vice president, coach and volleyball enthusiast. He had introduced and paved the way for many young athletes to the game of volleyball.
