Jamaica bowled their way to victory over T&T in their third round clash in the 2012 WICB/THA/All Sports Promotion Under-17 Cricket Tournament at Shaw Park, Tobago, yesterday. The visitors rebounded after being bowled out for 128 in 45.3 overs after the hosts sent them in to bat. Al Small did the damage with the ball for the local boys taking 4 for 15. Small was on fire grabbing the first four wickets as Jamaica were reeling at 26 for 4. The slide continued with Bryan Charles (2), Justin Joseph (2) and captain Jovan Ali taking the last five wickets for 102 runs. Mark Parchment was the topscorer for the Jamaicans with 23 runs, with Nicholas Walters adding 22 and Kevon Williams ending 20 no out. In reply, Jeremy Solozano was the first wicket to go for 13 runs off the bowling of Jamaican skipper Ramaal Lewis.
T&T's hero in the win against Windward Islands the previous day, Brian Christmas, could not reproduce his form, falling for 12 caught by Michael Hurst off the bowling of Fabien Allen with the score on 31. Camilio Carimbocas was next to go back to the pavilion. Nicholan Pooran did not even settle as he was out without scoring caught by Manning, Walters the bowler. Jeron Maniram (15), Small (13) and Charles (17) all got into double figures but were sent packing as T&T were struggling at 90/7. The woes continued as Webster went for three with the score still on 90. Joseph (10) and Bootan (7) fell cheaply with Bootan the last man out with Ali left unbeaten on 3. Speaking after the defeat T&T captain Ali said he was disappointed with the loss and felt that after bowling out Jamaica for 128 his boys took the game for granted.
