The coun­try's top young women crick­eters will be on show when the T&T Women's Crick­et As­so­ci­a­tion hosts its Ju­bilee Four-Na­tion In­ter­na­tion­al Friend­ly Tour­na­ment. The com­pe­ti­tion bowls off on Thurs­day at two venues si­mul­ta­ne­ous­ly, at the Na­tion­al Crick­et Cen­tre in Bal­main, Cou­va and at Cal­drac in Cal­i­for­nia. The tour­na­ment runs un­til Sun­day. The event will in­clude two teams from T&T, the na­tion­al 19 and un­der unit and a Board XI. The oth­er teams com­pet­ing are the ICC Amer­i­c­as, St Lu­cia and St Vin­cent. Teams ar­rive on Wednes­day. Aman­da Sama­roo of top lo­cal women's crick­et club team Phoenix, has been named cap­tain of the T&T 19 and un­der team. She has played for both the se­nior na­tion­al and West In­dies women's teams. Teneisha Cud­joe of Hi­bis­cus Ladies crick­et team will serve as vice-cap­tain. Cap­tain of the Board XI is 15-year-old Loret­ta Eligon of Achiev­ers and her deputy is Tra­maine Ed­wards of San Rafael. Eleven-year-old, Alysha Gomez of San Rafael, who will be play­ing with the Board XI, is the youngest play­er in ei­ther of the lo­cal teams.
