Cou­va North MP Ra­mona Ram­di­al is urg­ing young peo­ple to de­vel­op a strong sense of pa­tri­o­tism. She made the ap­peal while speak­ing at an In­de­pen­dence Day cel­e­bra­tion held at the Cara­pichaima Recre­ation Ground on Thurs­day. Ram­di­al said young peo­ple need to see them­selves first as Trin­bag­o­ni­ans with a strong sense of na­tion­al pride and loy­al­ty to T&T.

Ram­di­al said T&T had a lot to be proud about as an in­de­pen­dent na­tion, hav­ing achieved among the high­est in the world in the ar­eas of sport, cul­ture and aca­d­e­mics. The cel­e­bra­tion fea­tured a lo­cal food com­pe­ti­tion and cul­tur­al show. Twen­ty-five peo­ple were ho­n­oured for their role in the de­vel­op­ment of Cou­va.
